View your current self-storage units, their current state, and historical information, and add or export unit information.
Contents
Overview
The Units tab shows all the units that you have set up within each respective site.
As with the other tabs, you can filter the data based on different criteria and export the filtered data in a comma-separated value (CSV) file format.
If you want to change the number of results loaded on the page, there is a button at the bottom of the page to do that.
Filters
Data can be filtered according to these filters:
- Type: This will be a list of the unit types you have set up in your system.
- State: The current vacancy state of the unit. Available units will be available for booking. Overdue units have an outstanding invoice. Reserved, Occupied or Blocked units will be blocked from being bookings.
- Customer: To filter units associated to a specific user, enter the user details here.
- Labels: Any custom filters you've added.
The different unit states
- Available: Unit is vacant and available for a new user to reserve or move in. If no units of a specific unit type for a specific site are available, the unit type will show as "Sold out" in the Units Customer Portal.
- Occupied: Unit is occupied & being rented by a customer.
- Overdue: Unit has an outstanding invoice associated with it.
- Reserved: Unit is reserved by a customer, pending move-in (at which point it will become Occupied).
- Blocked: Unit is blocked from being occupied or reserved (e.g. in the case a unit is closed for cleaning or maintenance).
Adding a unit
Adding multiple units or a single unit can be done with a simple import spreadsheet. The import template can be found here.
To import your units you will need to fill out the following columns on the template:
- _site_code: Site Code should match the code you entered when first creating your site. For more information on site codes please see our 'Sites' article.
- _type_code: Type Code will match the code of the units corresponding unit type.
- name: The unit's name, typically a unit number.
- width: Enter only a numerical value for the unit's width. (e.g. '8')
- length: Enter only a numerical value for the unit's length. (e.g. '10')
- height: Enter only a numerical value for the unit's height. (e.g. '8')

- floor: Enter the floor number the unit is on. If you only have a single floor you may enter '1'
- defaultprice: Enter the unit price.

- state: Whether the unit is 'available' (meaning ready to move in) or 'blocked'. Typically, units are marked as blocks if they are in need of maintenance, cleaning, or are presently occupied. If the unit is occupied select 'blocked' and you will update the specific rental record in a later step.
Please be sure to save or export your import template as a CSV file type.

After populating the import template, select the three dots in the upper right corner, choose Import Units, and upload the CSV file.

Export
Click on the Export button to generate a CSV file export of the data returned based on the settings you have applied. Once the file is generated, you'll see this become a green "Click to download" button.
