Scheduling and cancelling a rent change

If you'd like to automate the following process, consider using the "Add-on: Automated rent increases." This add-on simplifies rent adjustments by automatically applying scheduled increases.

Scheduling a rent change

You have the flexibility to schedule price changes for your units and unit rentals, allowing you to set a future date for these adjustments to take effect.

You can increase or decrease the price accordingly with the amount or percentage, set the start date, and the date to send notice to customers about the upcoming rent change.

Note: If you want a copy of the rent change email sent to you, make sure to add your email address to the "BCC invoice emails to" field in the email templates section found in the main settings.

Once the rental charge is set, when you view your unit rentals, you'll notice a visual indicator highlighting units with scheduled price increases, making it easy to track and manage upcoming changes.

Example of rent change scenario

Invoice generation mode: Date of month

Invoice period start date  : 1

Invoice creation date  : 25

Current month: February

If you want the new rent price to apply to invoices generated on the next invoice generation date, set the rent change effective date to the day before the next invoice generation date. Using the example above, if the next invoice is set to generate on the 25th, then the rent change effective date should be on or before the 25th of February. And the rent change should reflect on the invoice for 1 March.

Cancelling a rent change

Go to the unit with the planned adjustment and find the 'X' button next to the scheduled rent change. Click the 'X' button, and a confirmation message will appear, asking if you want to cancel the scheduled rent change.

Click 'OK' to confirm the cancellation. After confirming, the scheduled rent change will be cancelled, and the unit's rent will stay the same.
