Every page you create for your custom website in Storeganise has a section where you can edit the metadata of the webpage. Metadata is the information that explains and describes data. And while the content within your webpages plays a role, the keywords you input for the metadata settings can greatly affect the SEO, or search engine optimization, of your website.

After you index your website to make it searchable in Google, it is crucial to also pay close attention to the metadata keywords that you set. There are countless approaches to being strategic and intentional about the keywords you decide to use, and there is no shortage of resources available on the internet to assist with this topic.

How to configure the metadata settings in your Storeganise custom website:

Editing the metadata of your webpages in Storeganise is a very simple process. When you first create a page, the popup window has 3 settings: Title, Slug, and SEO description. For the purposes of optimizing your webpage for searching, Title and SEO description are the fields you will be utilizing.

If you have already created a webpage and need to edit the metadata after the fact, you can easily open this setting window anytime. Simply click on the 3-dots button in the upper righthand corner while editing any webpage within the Main Settings and click on Update metadata.

The Title of your webpage is what displays in the browser tab/window. This is also what displays as the clickable link for search results in Google. The keywords and titles you choose here play a very important role in the SEO of your website.

The SEO description, or meta description, functions as a literal sentence that essentially describes the content of the webpage. Sometimes this is what displays in search results in Google underneath the title link, although this is never a guarantee. It does however still serve a purpose in SEO rankings. This should be a helpful and descriptive sentence that utilizes many keywords that relate to your business.

Leveraging both of these settings for every page in your custom Storeganise website can play a significant role in the SEO of your online presence.
