Setting up correct links for the pages on your Storeganise website is key to ensuring smooth navigation for your users. The links for each page are configured using slugs, which are the URL paths for your website’s pages. You can view these slugs on the left side of each page in the "Website" section of your main settings. For your homepage, the slug is just a forward slash, as there’s no additional URL path. Any other pages you create will have their own unique slugs.
When you create a page, its slug is automatically added to a list of URLs. This list is accessible when you’re editing or adding buttons in certain block types. For instance, if you’re working with a hero block and you add a call-to-action button, you’ll see a field for the URL.
Clicking in this field will bring up a dropdown list of all the pages you’ve created so far, making it easy to select the correct link. You’ll also find links to specific sections of your Customer Portal in the dropdown. For example, if you want to create a "Book Now" button, simply add the button, and in the URL dropdown, select "/sites." This will take users directly to your booking portal.
Similarly, to create a "Login" button, select "/account/login," and it will link users to the login page of your Customer Portal. It’s always a good idea to select URLs from the dropdown list instead of typing them manually. This reduces the risk of errors and ensures the links work correctly.
However, keep in mind that if you edit a page’s slug later, the links you’ve already set up won’t update automatically. For example, if you’ve created a button linking to another page on your website, and then you change that page’s slug in its metadata, you’ll need to go back and update the URL for that button—and any other buttons pointing to the same page.
To fix this, simply click on the button, delete the old URL, and select the updated one from the dropdown. It’s best to set up links within block types that include predefined button fields. This ensures you’re always using the correct URL path and avoids the possibility of broken links on your website.
