This video will demonstrate how to create custom promotions in Storganize.Custom promotions are managed in the "Main settings." To get started, click on your name in the top right corner, then select "Main settings." From the left side menu, choose "Promotions." To create a new promotion, click on the "Plus" icon in the top right corner.
The first field is for the promo code. This is the code that users will enter during the reservation process to apply the promotion to their rental. For this example, let’s enter "ten off" as the code.
Next, enter the title of the promotion. We’ll title this one "10% off first month."
After that, set the validity period, which defines when and for how long the promo code will be valid. Leaving the "End date" blank will result in a promo code being active indefinitely. Let’s set this code to run from August 1st, 2024, to December 31st, 2024.
Next, choose the sites where this promotion will be valid. In this example, we’ll make the code valid for all sites.
Next is the "Accounting code." Setting an accounting code allows you to apply tax or accounting code information to the promotion line item on an invoice.
The last step is to create the rules for the promotion. You can set up to four rules. Each rule can discount based on a fixed value or a percentage, which is applied to the monthly rent for the unit. For this example, let’s set up a 10% discount for the first month. Choose "percentage discount," then set the amount to 10%.
You will also need to set the start and end months for the discount. The start month indicates when the promotion takes effect. For example, "one" represents the first full month of the rental. If you’re using date-of-month billing, you can use "zero" to apply the discount to the current prorated month. The end month determines how long the promotion will last. If you leave the "End month" field blank, the discount will apply indefinitely. For this example, we'll set the promotion to apply only to the first month, so we’ll set both the start and end months to 1.
Once you've configured the promotion, click "Add."
The promotion is now active, and any customer using the customer portal to reserve a unit can enter the code "ten off" to receive 10% off their first full month of rental.
You can also apply this promotion when processing a move-in from the Management Portal. When scheduling a move-in for a vacant unit, after entering the customer information, you'll find a field near the bottom of the dialog box for the promo code. Entering the code here will apply the promotion to the new reservation.
