View the transcript Blocking a unit in Storganize is a reversible action that temporarily prevents any move-ins for that specific unit. Note that you can only block a unit that is not currently occupied.

To block a unit, follow these steps:
Navigate to the unit in question by going to the site, clicking on the "Units" tab, and selecting the unit from the list. Alternatively, you can type the unit name in the master search field at the top of the Management Portal, here. With the unit page open, click on the three dots menu button and select "Block move-ins" from the dropdown. You will be prompted to enter a short explanation for blocking the unit. Enter your reason and click "Okay". The unit status will change from green to gray, indicating it is blocked. The reason you entered will be displayed here and in the red caution banner at the top of the unit page.

To unblock a unit:
Click on the three dots menu button, select "Unblock," and confirm in the pop-up window that you are ready to make the unit available again by clicking "Okay." Units cannot be deleted outright in Storganize, but a blocked unit can be moved to an "archived" status, which is effectively the same as deleting. Archiving a unit is irreversible and should only be done when you are sure the unit will never be used again.

To archive a unit:
First, block the unit. Then, within the blocked unit’s page, click on the three dots menu button and select the "Archive" option. Confirm the selection by clicking "Okay." You will be prompted to enter a reason for archiving the unit. Enter your reason and click "Okay." The unit will now be permanently archived and cannot be used in Storganize again.
