Website builder: Copying pages

You may find yourself wanting to make a full copy of an existing page. This can help to speed up the process of creating a new but similar page by giving you a more fleshed out foundation to begin editing from. Or perhaps you want to make a backup copy of an existing page before you start making significant changes to the original. Regardless of the reason, this is a very simple process. Just follow the steps below.

  1. Navigate to the page you want to make a copy of within the management portal website builder.
  2. Click on the very top 3-dots button and select Export / Import.

  1. In the window that opens, highlight and copy all of the text.
    • This can be done easily with keyboard shortcuts
      • For Windows: Ctrl+A, then Ctrl+C
      • For Mac: Cmd+A, then Cmd+C
  2. Click outside of the open window to close it. Then from the pages list, click the + button to create a new blank page.
    • Note: when you paste the copied text in the next step, it will replace whatever you enter here for Title and SEO descriptions, but NOT the Slug.

  1. Within the newly created page, again click the very top 3-dots button and select Export / Import.
  2. In the window that opens, replace all of the text here with the text you copied from the original page.
    • This again can be done easily with keyboard shortcuts
      • For Windows: Ctrl+A, then Ctrl+V
      • For Mac: Cmd+A, then Cmd+V
  3. Scroll down and click on the blue Save button in the bottom right.
