PTI access control integration

We integrate with PTI as a site security system plugin. In this guide, we'll walk you through how Storeganise integrates seamlessly with PTI, the access control system, enabling you to efficiently manage access control, synchronize credentials, and streamline your self-storage operations.

Site configuration

Your contact at PTI should send you the following data:

  • PTI Site Key
  • PTI Site Code
  • PTI Username
  • PTI Password
  • PTI zone (default timezone config for all units)

Setting Up Storeganise & Storlogix (PTI)

Units configuration

PTI Unit Name

This custom field must be set for every unit you want to synchronise with PTI, the value should match the Unit Name visible in the PTI dashboard

Site Custom Fields

Within Storeganise, you'll find custom fields under "Custom Fields" in the main settings. These fields are designed to match your PTI credentials for each site. Ensure that the credentials for each site in Storeganise match those in PTI. PTI or Storeganise support can help you get this information.

PTI Access Level

In Storeganise, navigate to "Setup" and select "Access Levels." Here, set your PTI Access Level. This determines the default access given to any user and can be overridden on a user-by-user basis if needed.

Unit Mapping

To ensure seamless unit management, match the units in Storeganise with those in PTI:

  • Use the "PTI Unit Name" field in Storeganise to match with the unit name in PTI. This ensures that your units align properly.

Managing Unit Rentals

In Storeganise, the key information related to PTI is stored on the unit rental. This includes the access code when a customer moves in. You can also synchronize or resynchronize data with PTI. Here's how:

  • PTI Sync: Check the time of the last sync to PTI to get an overview of the synchronization status.
  • Regenerate Access Codes: When necessary, you can regenerate access codes, ensuring your customers have the right access.

User fields

  • PTI access code (e.g. 123456, read-only)
  • PTI user Id (read-only)
  • PTI zone (overrides site's timezone config)

After a move-in is successfully processed, the PTI access code and PTI user ID are set

Rental fields

  • PTI synced (e.g. 2023-09-13)
  • PTI overlocked (false by default)

Both can be manually edited and synchronised in PTI, PTI synced is useful to "push" the new rental at any time to PTI, for example after a sync fails, or after importing unit rentals from a CSV, you can bulk update them using a rental CSV update

PTI overlocked is automatically set true when a unit rental becomes overdue in payments, and false immediately after a payment unsets its overdue status

Move-ins

Move-In Process

  1. Accessing Units: In Storeganise, locate the unit you want to rent, then schedule and complete a move-in. Storeganise will communicate with PTI to create an access code, which can be included as a placeholder in customer emails.
  2. Access Code Synchronization: After the move-in, check your PTI account to ensure the access code matches the one generated in Storeganise.

Multiple Units for a Customer

If a customer rents multiple units, Storeganise checks for existing unit rentals and assigns the same access code for all units under that customer.

Suspend Units

Storeganise can automatically suspend access to units within PTI when invoices become overdue. You can also manually suspend or unsuspend access for specific units.

Resync Data

Manually trigger a resynchronization of data from Storeganise to PTI in case of any discrepancies.

Generate New Access Codes

Storeganise allows you to generate new access codes for customers, which can be essential in ensuring your customers have the correct access.

Adjust Customer Access Level

You can override the default access level for customers within PTI, tailoring access to individual users. This change may require a resynchronization to update PTI.

Move-Out Process

When a customer moves out, schedule the move-out in Storeganise, marking the unit as available. This process automatically removes access to that unit within PTI.
